My Philosophy

I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing in the field of mental health for over 30 years.   Prior to opening my private practice in Narberth in 2009, I was director of a community mental health center for over 13 years.  I have been fortunate to work with people with a variety of issues, including psychotic disorders, co-occurring disorders and family crises.  I have worked in a school district and am familiar with the IEP process and the resources that schools can offer students. Whether working with teenagers or someone with a chronic mental illness or substance abuse, I involve the family whenever possible. I believe in the importance of coordinating with all providers involved with the individual. My theoretical approach is eclectic and includes family therapy, psychodynamic theory, behavioral interventions, play therapy, narrative therapy and cognitive therapy.
